Season of Sculpture exhibits of Sarasota's Bayfront
The season seven of Season of Sculpture is now up all along the Bayfront Park by Tamiami Trail. This year's exhibit features 18 installations art from eight different artists.
Sarasota, with its world-class ballet, opera, orchestra, galleries and more, is often known as an art and cultural hub of Southwest Florida. Now, residents and visitors alike will enjoy a constant reminder of this label with every drive by the Sarasota Bayfront.
The seventh season of Season of Sculpture will run through May 30, 2014. The exhibit features 18 fascinating installations from eight regional, national, and international artists.
"It's not possible to visit Sarasota when these sculptures are up for six months every two years and not know that's who we are, said Susan McLeod, chair of the Season of Sculpture board of directors.
Season of Sculpture is organized and produced by a non-profit group under the same name. Its mission is to make art accessible and public.
"Public art is in large part a pronouncement about the community in which it sits," said McLeod.
