By popular demand, returning to the Van Wezel after sell-out runs are The Book of Mormon, the international sensation and outrageous musical comedy, Les Misérables, the breathtaking and timeless production, and The Color Purple, the exhilarating and powerful production that won the 2016 Tony Award for "Best Musical Revival."

---- Meetings/event venue: The 6,000 square foot Grand Foyer comfortably seats 35-350, and opens onto the Terrace and Bayfront Lawn accommodating an additional 1500. The beautiful, 1741 seat, Roskamp Auditorium was renovated in 2001 thanks to a generous $1,000,000 contribution from Sarasota residents Bob and Diane Roskamp. The original continental seat theatre was designed by commissioned chief architect, William Wesley Peters. Legendary performers such as Tony Bennett have been known to express their regard of the acoustical dynamics by stopping the orchestra to present an acappella solo to the audience in appreciation!
