Pride Month Events Not to Miss This June

As Sarasota’s LGBTQ+ organizations and community of diversified locals and travelers continue to grow, so do our events every Pride Month season. Don't shy away from the fun—find yourself immersed in an array of colorful and celebratory festivities, from educational and cultural to wild and carnivalesque. Make sure your June is as fun as it is fabulous!

The Grand Carnival In Bloom

Saturday, June 1, 7PM - 11PM, Circus Arts Conservatory

Hosted by Project Pride SRQ, this grand event will knock you off your feet with exciting visuals, performances and LGBTQ+ history. The annual Grand Carnival is the shiniest ball of them all and one not to be missed at the Circus Arts Conservatory. Expect an enchanting evening filled with flowers and dancing, a fantastic DJ spinning today's hits and cool country performances, craft specialty cocktails from Dive Bar Wine & Spirits, light bites from Sarasota restaurants and a few surprises! Not Your Typical Trivia – Pride Edition

Jun 12, 2024, 6PM – 8PM

Head to The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime for a special Pride edition of Not Your Typical Trivia, with proceeds benefiting Project Pride. LGBTQ+ individuals and their advocates and allies are encouraged to create teams and come in for a fun-fueled evening of trivia. First place team wins $40 Hamlet's gift certificate, 2nd place receives $20 and "losing" team gets free fries!

Silver Pride

Saturday, June 8th, 12PM– 5PM, Senior Friendship Center

Coming back for its second year—due to the wild popularity of 500+ seniors and 50+ vendors—Project Pride SRQ presents Silve Pride (but even bigger and more extravagant than before!). This free event at Senior Friendship Center celebrates LGBTQ+ seniors, aged 50 and better, with drag makeovers, high-quality entertainment, some history, trolley victory laps on Main Street and more. 

Drag Queen Bingo

Every Sunday, 7:30PM - 9:30PM, Bahi Hut Tiki Bar and Thursday, June 20, 7PM at Mellow Mushroom

Join Drag Queen Georgia Moore for weekly bingo at the Bahi Hut, Florida’s oldest tiki bar for some royal fun, tropical libations and awesome prizes. Expect hilarious banter, sassy remarks, laughter, music and of course, bingo and surprises. There is no RSVP required or admission costs, just buy a drink to play—and when at Bahi Hut, there’s no better cocktail to sip on than their famous Mai Tai or Sneaky Tiki. 

Additionally, Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers will host a special Drag Queen Bingo - PRIDE edition, which is arguably the most fun you'll have on a Thursday, paired with wood-fired pizzas and pints of cold beer!

Sarasota's Sunset Pride Cruise

Friday, June 15, 6:30PM – 9PM, LeBarge Tropical Cruises

You do not want to miss this exclusive sightseeing booze cruise! Climb aboard the floating island adorned with palm trees and mermaid statues that is the LeBarge Tropical Cruise boat. Chartered privately by SarasotaOUT.com and Orenda Health, grab your tickets for DJ spins, dancing, hard and soft drinks, snacks, prizes and giveaways. The cruise ships off from Marina Jack and will explore Sarasota's stunning bay for sunset. Keep an eye out for the elusive green flash and dolphins!

Big Gay Weekend Beach Party 9

Saturday, June 15th, 3PM - 9PM, North Lido Beach

Grab your squad and your best beach outfit for the annual Big Gay Beach Party. This grassroots event attracts the local LGBTQ+ community and allies, as well as people from all over Florida to come together on North Lido for an unforgettable day at the beach. Big Gay Beach Party in the past has attracted attendees from various parts of Florida and major cities across the US. Because there are no amenities at this section of the beach, you are encouraged to bring everything you would need for a self-contained day at the beach. This wet and wild day in the sun is a free event for all.

Splash! Pride Rooftop Pool Party

Sunday, June 16th, 1PM– 7PM, Sarasota Modern Hotel

SarasotaOUT.com is bringing back its annual pool party at a new location, The Sarasota Modern hotel and its Wink Wink Pool Bar. Dive in and dance as the community celebrates LGBTQ+ love and pride by taking a dip in either the heated pool, hot tub, cold plunge pool—or all three! Sip on craft cocktails while shopping the vibrant pride market that will be set up in this micro oasis of Rosemary District. Enjoy pride-filled beats by a local DJ and show-stopping drag performances poolside.

Banned Book Club "This Book is Gay" 

Tuesday, June 25th, 11AM - 12PM, Bookstore1

Downtown Sarasota's Bookstore1 hosts a monthly book club meetup in its upstairs loft area—dedicated to reading, protecting and discussing the most important and threatened books for our generation. June's special Pride Month edition features the bestselling young adult nonfiction book on sexuality and gender, This Book is Gay by Juno Dawson. In 2023 it was the ninth most banned book in America. 

Registration at SarasotaBooks.com is $13, which includes a copy of the book—to be picked up at Bookstore1 any time before the meeting.

Grand Flag March

Saturday, June 29, 9AM - 12PM, John Ringling Bridge

Join Project Pride for an annual celebration march as the hundreds of individuals come together to walk across the beautiful John Ringling Bridge Causeway with a LGBTQ+ Grand Flag in a stunning display of unity and pride. Don’t miss this unique event that showcases strength, diversity, community and PRIDE! 

*Parking is available on a first come first serve basis at Ringling Bridge Causeway Park and Bayfront Park.
