Pride Month Events Not to Miss This June

Plan your next "gaycation" around Pride Month 2022 for some lively activism and good times. Sarasota is ready to welcome you to our little beach town that is full of PRIDE!

As Sarasota’s LGBTQ+ organizations grow and our colorful communities continue to diversify with LGBTQ travelers, couples and families, as well as their advocates and allies, more events are added with each flag-flying summer—ranging from solemn yet celebratory, to wild and carnivalesque. Make sure your June is as fun as it is fabulous!

Taste of Pride

​Entire month of June at participating restaurants in Sarasota and Venice
 
Experience the best of Sarasota and Venice's LGBTQ-Friendly businesses with Project PRIDE SRQ's 3rd annual TASTE of PRIDE event happening June 1st - 30th. Various local restaurants, bars and cafes are offering a discount, pre-fix menu, or free item to celebrate pride month. Some locations are even adding rainbow items to the menu!
Always make sure to mention "TASTE of PRIDE" when ordering to receive your discount or rainbow-colored item.

Ride for Pride

Saturday, June 4th, 1PM - 2PM, Historic Downtown Venice - Main Street

Head to downtown Venice to watch, or be apart of, Venice Pride’s annual Ride for Pride Car Parade. With no entry fees, decorate your ride in your best pride gear and colors to win prizes and to celebrate the visibility and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. Stick around and join the after party at local hotspot, the Venice Wine & Coffee Company.

The Grand Carnival an ICONic Evening 

Saturday, June 4th, 7PM - 10PM, Municipal Auditorium-Recreation Club

This grand event will knock you off your feet with exciting visuals, performances and LGBTQ+ history. The Grand Carnival is one not to be missed. Look forward to a tributary evening of fabulous icons of fashion, music and showtime—from Lady Gaga, Cher, Britney Spears and Tina Turner. Tributes will take the main stage at Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, including performers from the local Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe. There will also be a special performance by RuPaul's Drag Race "All Stars 4 Winner" Trinity The Tuck, open bar, food, DJ Brianna Lee, dancing. Plus, surprises you have to see to believe! 

PRIDE "Booze" Cruise

Friday, June 10th, 10PM - Midnight, Sarasota Bayfront

Step aboard a chartered LeBarge Tropical Cruise for a special 2-hour party at sea, leaving from the picturesque Marina Jack at Sarasota Bayfront Park. Onboard enjoy live entertainment, special prizes, raffles and more. This is one pride party you don’t want to miss! Full bar and snacks will be available for purchase, as it is, after all, a Booze Cruise.

Pride Pool Party

Saturday, June 11th, 3PM– 6PM, Golden Host Resort

SarasotaOUT.com presents PRIDE Pool Party at the Golden Host Resort. Celebrate the LGBTQ community during Pride month by taking a dip in the pool during SarasotaOUT's Big Gay Weekend. Enjoy LGBTQ EXPO vendors, live DJs, a delicious food truck, drag shows, poolside games and more. Stay at the host hotel for added fun and convenience! 

A Mythological Toga Party

Saturday, June 11th, 10PM - 2AM, Oasis Restaurant & Bar

Calling all gods and goddesses, your presence is requested at Mt Olympus for an epic Toga Party hosted by SarasotaOut.com. Experience downtown Sarasota's Oasis Restaraunt & Bar as it's transformed into Purgatory—where mortals, creatures and the gods come together to await our fate. Expect to indulge in rowdy libations and dancing at epic proportions. VIP tables on balcony are available for purchase. 

Car Pride Parade 

Saturday, June 11th, 11AM, Downtown Sarasota - Main Street

Roll down downtown Sarasota’s Main Street in style for the 3rd annual Project PRIDE SRQ Car Pride Parade. Find a spot on Sarasota to sit back and spectate the fantastic array of vehicles in the parade, or enter to join the parade. There are no entry fees, just decorate your ride in your best PRIDE gear and colors. Best decorations win prizes. After the parade, walk or drive over to Sarasota Bayfront Park to O’Leary’s Tiki Bar & Grill for the after party! 

Big Gay Beach Party 6

Sunday, June 12, 11AM - 6PM, North Lido Beach

Grab your squad and your best beach outfit for the annual Big Gay Beach Party, a grassroots event where Sarasota's LGBTQ+ community and allies gather together on North Lido for a day at the beach. Big Gay Beach Party in the past has attracted attendees from various parts of Florida and major cities across the US. Because there are no amenities at this section of the beach you are encouraged to bring everything you would need for a self-contained day at the beach. This wet and wild day in the sun is a free event for all.

Drag Queen Bingo

Sunday, June 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th, 7:30PM - 9:30PM, Bahi Hut

Join Drag Queen Georgia Moore for bingo at Bahi Hut, Florida’s oldest tiki bar for some royal fun and prizes. There is no admission costs, just buy a drink to play—and when at Bahi Hut, there’s no better cocktail to sip on than their famous Mai Tai or Sneaky Tiki. 

Pride Pet Parade 

Saturday, June 18th, 9AM - 10AM, Sarasota Bayfront Park & Marina

Have a real soft spot for furry friends who want to celebrate Pride Month too? Head to Bayfront Park as participants and their partners in crime strut around the bay in one big circle. Hosted by Project Pride SRQ, anyone is welcomed and encouraged to come hangout in the park and watch the parade, or participate by bringing your pooch or feline friend in their fab ensembles. There will be prizes for best dressed!

*Reminder to not over-dress your furry friend and be mindful of hot pavement.

Grand Flag March

Saturday, June 25, 7:30 PM, Sarasota, John Ringling Causeway

Join the ultimate festivity where locals and visitors alike join together to March The Project Pride SRQ Grand Flag across the picturesque Sarasota John Ringling Bridge. For its 2nd annual unfurling, the organization and its partners have added 350' to its rainbow flag for a "Grand" total of 700' to also represent Transgender, Black, and Brown inclusivity. RSVP for the March here. 

*Arrive early for a parking spot under the bridge or parking near Bayfront Park is a short walk to the bridge.
