77 Siesta Islander: Your Breezy Ride to Siesta Key & Beyond

You can now further embrace the island vibe of Sarasota's famous barrier island and of the downtown area on an open-air trolley.

Sarasota County Breeze Transit has recently expanded its 77 Siesta Islander (formerly Siesta Key Breeze) route to now connect passengers to Downtown Sarasota, Siesta Key Village, award-winning Siesta Beach, South Village and Turtle Beach Park & Campground.

Introducing the 77 Siesta Islander

The 77 Siesta Islander is a free, open-air trolley that runs approximately every 30 minutes, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily (with modified hours on major holidays). It's a fantastic option for travelers without cars to see and explore more of the area without having to worry about navigating or paying for parking. Let the locals lead and just sit back and enjoy the scenery on this coastal "touring" route until it comes to your preferred stop!

Why You'll Love This Ride

The 77 Siesta Islander is more than just transportation; it’s an experience. The open-air design lets you soak in Sarasota’s year-round warm and sunny weather as you cruise to and from Siesta Key. Not only is it a practical option for travelers venturing out to dinner and a show downtown but staying on the island, but it’s also an advantage for residents who may rather hitch a ride and let someone else take the wheel.

  • Convenience: Forget the hassle of parking – ride the trolley straight to your destination or back to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.
  • Affordability: With no cost to ride, it’s a budget-friendly transportation for locals and visitors alike.
  • Eco-Friendly: Help reduce traffic congestion and your carbon footprint by using public transit.
  • Fun: The trolley’s breezy, beachy vibe adds to the Siesta Key experience and helps to the proverbial "take the load off" by letting the locals lead.
  • Event or Work Commute: Avoid having to find or pay for parking in downtown or on the island when spaces may be limited due to popular events, festivals and farmers markets
  • Accessibility: Each trolley has a wheelchair lift and two designated wheelchair spaces.
