Finding a parking spot during a busy time of day can be a nightmare on Siesta Key. Minimize and mobilize your “key” experience by taking advantage of some transportation services and tips for parking.

The eight-mile-long barrier island is comprised of four distinct areas: Siesta Beach, Crescent Beach, Turtle Beach and Siesta Key Village. Each area boasts its own beautiful and unique flair in shopping, dining and lodging.
All newcomers and visitors can enjoy the splendor of each area while using Siesta Key’s customized means of transportation. The Siesta Key Breeze Trolley, Johnny’s Original Free Ride, Siesta Key Frog Hop and Siesta Key Free Ride are free transportation options that allow for time well spent in your favorite spot.
SCAT to Siesta Key
Route 11 of Sarasota County Area Transit rides from downtown Sarasota to Siesta Key and down to Gulf Gate shopping district. The route runs on weekdays and Saturdays (except major holidays.) Pick-up routes include Westfield Southgate Mall, Siesta Village, Siesta Beach and nearby Captain Curt’s Oyster Bar & Restaurant. Route 11 starts at Southgate Circle at 5:57 a.m. and ends at the Sarasota Pavilion in Gulf Gate at 9 p.m.
Siesta Key Breeze Trolley
The Siesta Key Breeze trolley travels from Siesta Village to the southern end of the island and back. Rides on the Siesta Key Breeze are free. The trolley operates from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the week, with modified hours on some holidays.

Siesta Trolley

Johnny’s Original Free Ride
Johnny’s Original Free Ride transports passengers between Siesta Key Beach, Siesta Village, and Turtle Beach between the daily hours of 10 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. within a 15-20 minutes response time, depending on traffic. It also offers exclusive service to the Best Western Plus -Siesta Key Gateway on the mainland.

Siesta Key Frog Hop
The Siesta Key Frog Hop operates seven days per week between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. Riders are asked to call 844-Frog-Hop (376-4467) and request transportation 20 minutes in advance of their preferred pick-up time. Trolleys are available for rent to host a myriad of special events. Passengers are encouraged to tip the drivers.
Siesta Key Free Ride
Siesta Key Free Ride provides tip-only taxi and courier services in and around Siesta Key between 10 a.m. and 2 a.m. seven days per week. Up to 15 riders are transported on a shuttle bus or an open-air, battery-powered electric vehicle. Please call (941) 952-TAXI (8294) to reserve your pick-up time.
As you can see there’s no need to fret over where to find the best accommodations and/or restaurants because the free transportation options allow you to enjoy everything Siesta Key has to offer and more. In addition to this, there is ample room on the road and sidewalks for roller skating, cycling, and walking.
