One of Sarasota's newest luxury resorts, The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort stands as a premier five-star beachfront sanctuary for guests from all over the world. The Resort at Longboat Key Club is a AAA Four-Diamond beachfront resort located on another exclusive stretch of the Gulf on the south end of Longboat Key. With 410 acres of lush lawns and beautiful beachfront, there's plenty of room for guests to spread out and relax or get active. Amenities: The resort showcases five restaurants, ranging from a contemporary tavern and grilled sandwiches on the beach to candlelit dinners at a deep-water marina. For golfers, nothing beats being able to play 45 holes of championship golf along the blue waters of the Gulf. Other on-site activities include tennis and pickleball on one of the 25 Har-Tru courts and the Mind & Motion Studio, with state-of-the-art fitness equipment and dozens of classes per week—including yoga on the beach, Tai Chi, spinning and moonlight meditation. Guests can also retreat to The Spa, featuring 50 island-inspired treatments. If you're looking to stay here for business or a special event, there are 12,000 square feet of sophisticated meeting space. 

Walkability: Visitors who stay at the club will find it hard to leave, but it's worth at least taking a walk down the beach or to the marina. Travelers can also cruise down the only thoroughfare on Longboat Key if they have a car—with the Gulf on one side and Sarasota Bay on the other. Find the Chart House restaurant incredibly close to the resort and Dry Dock Waterfront Grill just across the way.

Resorts on Lido Key

Lido Beach Resort is considered one of the most luxurious resorts on Lido Key after completing a major room renovation in 2020. There are 223 island-inspired guest rooms with private balconies, including condo-style suites featuring full kitchens and the comforts of home alongside upscale amenities. 

Amenities: There are two year-round heated pools and a famous poolside tiki bar so guests can enjoy both family-friendly spaces and an adults-only outdoor area during their stay. Aside from the 300 feet of white-sand beach access with two included chairs per room, Lido Beach Resort also features a fitness center complete with strength and cardio equipment, plus 6,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space for meetings and weddings. On the 8th floor, discover Drift Kitchen & Bar for a more formal meal. It boasts 180-degree floor-to-ceiling views of the Gulf. 

Walkability: While the resort offers a complimentary shuttle to nearby St. Armands Circle, it's a very doable 1-mile walk for those who'd like to get some exercise or take in the sights more slowly. Known as the "Rodeo Drive of Sarasota," the Circle offers more than 100 boutiques and restaurants. 

Cirque St. Armands Beachside

Guests can walk directly across the way to the main public Lido Beach, then rinse off and stroll over to the Circle. Also walkable are the nearby nature paths at South Lido Park for a less-crowded sunset or beachside barbecue.

Hotel in Sarasota Springs Area

Carlisle Inn

Hotel at University Town Center

Homewood Suites by Hilton Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch

North Port Hotel – Coming Soon

The Wellmar at Wellen Park 

Sarasota's lodging landscape continues to grow with The Wellmar, a 149-room boutique hotel joining Marriott's Tribute Portfolio in North Port. Currently under construction in the heart of Downtown Wellen, the five-story property is slated to open in late 2027 and will place guests within walking distance of the district's waterfront restaurants, shops, live entertainment and year-round community events. 

In addition to a lobby bar that opens up to a resort-style pool deck, the 5th floor boasts a full-service rooftop restaurant and bar with panoramic lake views. The hotel will also serve as a venue for weddings and banquet celebrations, with a dedicated function space.

The hotel is expected to become the premier stay for visitors exploring Wellen Park, the Atlanta Braves' nearby spring training facilities and North Port's many parks, golf courses and trails.
