Sarasota Father's Day Events and Specials

Dads deserve to feel the love too! Here are some ideas for a weekend fit for fathers and the rest of the family too.

If you’re spending Father’s day weekend with Dad or Grandpa in southwest Florida, you’re in luck! Whether it's admiring antique automobiles, eating belly-busting brunches or meeting sports stars — there are abundant opportunities to hone in on Dad's favorite hobbies.

Father's Day Weekend Fun

Kick off a Father's Day weekend with some physical fitness: The annual Great Father's Day Race on Siesta Key Beach takes place at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 15.

Is Gramps a gearhead? Treat motorcycle enthusiast Dads and Grandpas to Bikes at the Bazaar, an antique and vintage motorcycle show taking place on June 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bazaar on Apricot & Lime (821 Apricot Ave, Sarasota).

Golfing, gaming, and hanging out with professional athletes? What more could a dad ask for on Father's Day weekend? The Dad's Day Block Party at University Town Center takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 15, and features a gaming lounge, putting contest, burgers 'n' beers, and appearances from the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Buccaneers pro sports teams.

Take your pops for a walk on the wild side. Dads and Grandads get free admission at Sarasota Jungle Gardens on Father's Day (Sunday, June 16) with the purchase of one regular admission ticket. Dads also get free admission at Mote Marine with the purchase of a child's ticket on June 16.

Let Dad drool over artful automobiles where antique, exotic, and one-of-a-kind classics are featured in rotating exhibits seven days a week. Bring dapper, dancin’ dad to the Sarasota Classic Car Museum’s first-ever Champagne Dance Party, featuring music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s with champagne and hors d'oeuvres the evening of June 15.

Dining with Dad

In honor of Father's Day, State Street will offer a special holiday menu that finishes with a complimentary chocolate cigar for Dad. Brunch at State Street takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every Sunday.

Got more of a southwestern appetite? Reyna’s Taqueria is offering Father’s Day menu specials and a complimentary House Margarita or beer with Dad's meal all weekend long starting Friday, June 14.

Mattison's Forty-One will have their famous and fabulous brunch with a New Orleans-style focus with house-made jambalaya, cajun shrimp boil, blackened redfish, barbecue ribs, fresh beignets and much more. Other "Dad-ly" options include =prime steakhouse-style dining at Fleming's, views overlooking Sarasota Bay at Marina Jack, and surf & turf with signature cocktails at Shore Diner.

Does Dad consider himself king of the grill? Take advantage of the charcoal grills available at Lido Key, Siesta Key, Venice, Nokomis, and Manasota beach parks to cook up burgers 'n' hotdogs — or pick up a smokehouse smorgasbord from Brick's Smoked Meats so the "grill master" can kick back, relax and not worry about burning the brats.

Indulge Pop's Favorite Pastimes

Does Dad enjoy golfing? Pizza? Tiki Bars? Ice cream? Evie's Tavern on the Range offers a little of everything. From mini golf to the driving range, plus an arcade, there's plenty of fun for the whole family, and bar bites to keep Dad fueled up for a day of play.

Looking for something a little more manly? Learn to throw hatchets and axes into wood targets and compete for head-of-household bragging rights at Axe & Bull Sarasota.  Better yet, see who's king of the treetops by navigating the aerial obstacle courses of TreeUmph! Adventure Course.

For the more aquatically-inclined adventurers, take a tour with the aptly named Endless Summer Eco Tours & Rentals or hop on board with charter captains from C.B.'s Saltwater Outfitters and Son of a Fish Charters for a thrilling fishing adventure.

Perhaps your Pops could use some new "Dad joke" material. Bring him to a side-splitting evening of standup at McCurdy's Comedy Club. Comedian Darryl Lenox brings the laughs to Sarasota on Father's Day Weekend.
