Seven Sunday Funday Brunch Spots

Brunch is a beloved tradition in Sarasota—Good thing the city is packed with delicious spots to satisfy those Sunday morning cravings.

Sunday Funday officially starts when mimosas or Aperol spritzes hit the table! From fluffy omelets to decadent waffles, savory breakfast sandwiches to sweet homemade pastries, Sarasota's brunch scene has something for everyone (even if you're not a morning person!). Whether you're looking for a casual breakfast spot or a "boujee" brunch experience, Sarasota has something for every early bird or late-riser friend group.

Here are seven solid brunch spots to beat the Sunday scaries (in no particular order):

1. Keke's Breakfast Cafe

This charming cafe with two locations (one on Clark Road and the other at University Town Center) is a Sarasota mainstay, serving up traditional breakfast dishes like the Western Omelet and Chocolate Chip Pancakes, or more decadent options like Apple-Cinnamon Stuffed French Toast and Chicken + Waffles. Order yourself a hot coffee and tall glass of Florida-pressed OJ and enjoy the elevated diner feel of Keke's.

2. First Watch Restaurants

First Watch Restaurants is a Florida institution for brunch. With six locations in Sarasota County (four in Sarasota, one in Venice and one in North Port), you're sure to find one close-by. Opt for the fresh French-press coffee by the carafe, the seasonal specials menu and fresh daily juices. With bright, colorful murals inside and a trendy atmosphere, First Watch is a popular spot for brunchers–both local and visiting. Try their signature Avocado Toast or Breakfast Sampler with a side of Million Dollar Bacon. The Brunch Cocktails, such as Blackberry Bramble Sangria and Spiked Watermelon Wake Up are also tough to pass up on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

3. The Toasted Yolk Cafe

This popular breakfast spot has a nice outdoor patio to sit outside under the shade while you enjoy your morning cup of joe or a classic Bloody Mary. The Contemporary-American menu with a Tex-Mex twist features brunch apps such as Blueberry Donuts and Fried Banana Peppers as well as egg specialties, like Crowboy Scramble, Brisket Scramble and the Yolkwich. For the health-conscious brunches, go for the Southwest Breakfast Bowl or Steel Cut Oats, topped with brown sugar and fruit.

4. C'est La Vie!

This French-inspired bakery and cafe has two locations (one on Main Street in the heart of downtown Sarasota and the other in Lakewood Ranch). This award-winning staple bakes authentic French recipes from Paris—offering a delightful brunch experience that feels more European than Floridian. Worry about the carbs later and opt for any and all of the artisanal pastries, crepes, croissants and quiches. The toasted baguette sandwiches and fresh salads are also popular brunch choices.

5. Libby's Neighborhood Brasserie and Libby's Lakewood Ranch

This cozy brasserie offers two locations (one in Southside Village and the other in Lakewood Ranch) as well as a happening weekend brunch service with beautiful outdoor seating available under shaded patios. Expect creative twists on classic dishes, like their signature Bananas Foster French Toast, Blue Crab & Shrimp Benedict, Brunch Burger and the featured Croque Madame. Opt for a side of the Smoked Cheddar Grit Cakes if you're feeling something extra savory. Did we mention bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys? The Aperol Spritzes and Breakfast Bourbon also make Sundays a bit more fun.

6. Forked at Waterside

As the newest brunch location on the list, head to Waterside Place in Lakewood Ranch for great patio dining and weekend brunch vibes—every day of the week! With an expansive breakfast, lunch and brunch menu, you'll find modern, Southwestern-style takes on your favorite recipes. From specialties like Let's Hash It Out and Oh So Good Biscuits & Gravy to "Siesta Fiesta" dishes Huevos Rancheros, Breakfast Tamales and the Baja Breakfast Burrito. The "Gettin' Benny With It" egg benedicts are as funky and delicious as the sinful Skillets. What better to pair with your meal than a hot cappuccino or one of the many brunch cocktails from its full bar menu?

7. Organic Farmer's Table

This charming, family-owned restaurant in downtown Sarasota is dedicated to serving up fresh, organic produce with many vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat options. Their brunch menu features creative flatbread recipes such as the Farmer's Flatbread, the Vegan Fiesta and the Chicken, Brie & Grape one. The Mushroom and Avocado Toasts comes on local sourdough bread while the Steak & Egg Tacos  come on soft corn tortillas. More standouts include the house made biscuits and the Cacao Smoothie. Kombucha and kefir waters are also available to wash down your Sunday Funday meal.
