
About the Chef
Executive Chef Marcos Vasquez, born in Guatemala, was inspired to become a chef when he was 28 years old. The driving force behind his work is seeing others enjoy his food; this is what still motivates him today!
Marcos was mostly self-taught and mentored at a local independent restaurant on Siesta Key. Chef Marcos has been with Pop's Sunset Grill for 4 years. Over the course of his time so far at Pop's we have enjoyed his Chef specials daily, his cuisine at various wine dinners including hosting a variety of visiting celebrity chefs to work alongside our team.

Chef Marcos loves working with fresh, local seafood. When creating a dish for himself you will usually find that he kicks up the spice a notch with fresh jalapeno!
