New Sarasota hotel earns high marks from travelers

It's been less than a year, but a new Sarasota hotel is garnering high praise from visitors according to the popular hotel-booking service TripAdvisor.

According to a recent article, TripAdvisor put the Carlisle Inn on its "7 of the top hotels in Florida" list.

TripAdvisor says its list was assembled "based off of feedback and reviews from TripAdvisor travelers," and shared this excerpt from a review of the new hotel in Sarasota's Pinecraft community:

"I had never been to or heard of this hotel and was very impressed {by} the facility and all of the amenities. Beautiful clean rooms and great breakfast. Saw the gym and pool but did not use them. Would love to stay here again."

The 98-room hotel in the middle of Sarasota's historic Amish and Mennonite community opened its doors back in March behind Der Dutchman Restaurant, which is also owned by the Dutchman Hospitality Group. Vistors are walking distance from the unique shops and restaurants where residents sell unique, homemade goods.

In March, the property's group and events manager Sean Miller told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune the hotel was "two or so rooms shy of being booked to capacity its first weekend."
