This program showcases lesser-known versions of famous works, beginning with Beethoven’s fourth and final version of his Overture to Fidelio and the Rococo Variations as Tchaikovsky originally wrote them. Mahler’s Blumine, cut from his first symphony, stands beautifully on its own. Mozart composed two different slow movements for his Symphony No. 31—so Sarasota Orchestra will perform both.
