Uncover some of the best beaches and backdrops to snap a picture in #MySarasota

It’s hard not to feel like you’re living in paradise among the clear blue skies, warm weather, glistening oceans, waterfront dining, great food, and delicious tropical drinks in Sarasota.

From Sarasota’s white sand beaches to the palm trees and sunny days, this county provides ample opportunities to take a glamorous photo, but knowing the best places in town for a photo can ensure your followers like the view just as much.

Sarasota native Kim Edelsbacher -- also known as @thinkgypsy with over 25,000 Instagram followers -- helped provide some suggestions (and examples) of the different places to take photos that pop on social media.

Read on to see some of her picture-perfect suggestions and a few of our own, and if you aren't already, follow us for plenty of #inspo! @visitsarasotacounty

Siesta Key

Siesta Key is a Sarasota staple. Natives know it’s a top beach in the county, young MTV fans know it as the setting for a self-titled reality show, and some publications have deemed it the number one beach in the country. The white sand is as soft to your feet as it is beautiful to your eye.

If you’re into scenic photography, the lifeguard stands along the beach add a nice pop of color. You can take also take a selfie or pose for a photo with them in the background for a quality social media post.

The public beach is near the Siesta Key Village, neighboring numerous shops, cafes and restaurants.

Colorful daiquiris also make for a good “instagrammable” moment so grab one from Daiquiri Deck’s Siesta Key location and snap a fun picture holding it or drinking it.

If you want to really show off your modeling skills, the worn down pier at Beach Access 2 and Siesta Key Beachside Rentals are excellent landscapes to take advantage of while on Siesta Key.

St. Armands Circle

St. Armands Circle is one of Sarasota’s main tourist attractions. Not only will you enjoy the food and boutiques on “the circle,” but the restaurants and shops also make good scenery for a photo.

Shore is a restaurant and clothing store on the circle that people love. The clothes are hip, the store smells amazing and the decor with cactuses and surf boards give it a California-vibe. It is the second store you will see as you enter the circle, next door to the locally-famous Foxy Lady boutique.

Upstairs is Shore's upscale restaurant popular for crafty drinks, chic atmosphere and, if the angle is right, perfect photos.

Downtown Sarasota

Downtown Sarasota is a haven for art and culture. Colorfully painted buildings, murals and over 80 public art pieces line the streets. Aside from street art, some of the most luxurious restaurants, bars and hotels can be found downtown.

The Westin and Art Ovation are hotels with rooftop bars and stylish lobbies, perfect for a drink and endless photo opportunities. The Ritz-Carlton - with properties on the Sarasota bayfront and Lido Key Beach - offer uninterrupted views of our glistening waterways.

The Sarasota Modern is another hotel heating up on the scene. Although it doesn’t have a rooftop bar, it features minimalist designs throughout that make it a great location for photos.

For those willing to let the phone eat first, Lemon Tree Kitchen and The Overton have menu items that look and taste amazing.

Of course, these are just a few options throughout Sarasota County. Don’t be afraid to go out and look at our stunning destination from different angles to find the one perfect for your friends, family and followers!
