Join the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for a free “Science Stories from Your Community” event hosted at Mote Science Education Aquarium (SEA) on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

This community event brings together scientists and the public to learn about and celebrate Florida’s incredible coastal, marine and estuarine environments through presentations and engaging conversations. 🔬🏝️

Attendees will meet scientists studying Florida’s coastal wetlands, coral reefs, seagrass beds, and oyster reefs and take part in hands-on activities that build environmental knowledge and awareness.

🌟 On December 4, registered participants who attended the December 3 seminar may choose to participate in one of the following Field Excursions:

🦈 Mote Science Education Aquarium tour

🪸 Mote Aquaculture Research Park (MAP) tour including the Florida Red Tide Mitigation and Technology Development Facility and the International Coral Gene Bank

⛵️ Sarasota Bay Explorers guided boat tour
