The opening notes of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony are recognized the world over, and their sheer power remains unmatched. In composing his Academic Festival Overture, Brahms revealed his sense of humor by incorporating several student “beer hall” songs. Cellist Zlatomir Fung performs Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, adored for its nobility and sentimentality.
