Sarasota International Dragon Boat Festival

The Sarasota International Dragon Boat Festival returns to Nathan Benderson Park on April 18, 2026, bringing an exciting day of competition, culture, and community to the region. This one-day festival features both competitive and recreational dragon boat racing, where teams of twenty paddlers move in unison, combining strength, rhythm, and teamwork in boats inspired by an ancient Chinese tradition. Welcoming social groups, businesses, and community teams alike, the event promotes camaraderie, connection, and healthy lifestyles. Races begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day, while festival grounds will feature food trucks, a marketplace, and a Health & Wellness Zone showcasing local products and services. With free admission and opportunities for new teams or individuals to participate, the festival is expected to attract more than 1,300 participants and 1,100 spectators for a vibrant, family-friendly celebration on the water.
