SYNOPSIS:

At dawn, deep within the forest, the sorceress Eartha brews a magical potion meant to preserve the harmony between humankind and nature — a potion that allows one to hear the unheard. As she completes her work, she senses unrest stirring beyond the trees.

In the nearby meadow, the villagers begin their day with cheer and hard work. Among them is Anna, a spirited young woman who dreams of a life beyond her simple village. Feeling ignored and unappreciated, Anna grows resentful of her companions. Her frustration erupts into a quarrel, and in anger she throws the villagers’ harvest, baskets of peas, eggplants, and olives, scattering them across the meadow. Alone and ashamed, Anna flees into the forest.

There she stumbles upon Eartha at her woodland dwelling. Startled by the encounter, Anna listens as Eartha offers her a potion, promising it will open her ears to the world’s hidden voices. Impatient and dismissive, Anna mocks the idea and turns away. Eartha, calm and knowing, vanishes, leaving the potion’s magic to unfold on its own.

As Anna wanders back through the forest, she begins to hear whispers all around her. To her amazement, the very plants she once tossed aside, the English Peas, Eggplants, and Spanish Olives, come to life, dancing in joy and wonder. They introduce themselves and share their stories, each revealing the beauty of the world she had ignored.

Eager to share her discovery, Anna rushes back to the meadow. But to her despair, she finds that she can no longer hear or be heard. The world moves around her in silence.

Heartbroken, she returns to the forest seeking Eartha’s forgiveness. The sorceress reappears, gentle and wise, explaining that true understanding does not come from the ears but from the heart. With this newfound wisdom, Anna rejoins the meadow, dancing once more in harmony with her friends, now able to truly listen to the world around her.
