At last, as promised—the long-awaited full-length version of Tania Vergara’s signature piece, Casa Havana, returns to be performed on Wednesday, June 3 at 7 PM and Saturday, June 8 at 2:30 PM at the Cook Theatre, FSU Performing Arts Center as part of the Squeaky Wheel Fringe Festival. The company won the “Audience Favorite” award at last year’s festival—so don’t miss this year’s performance!
Casa Havana is a dramatic dance-theater story of three siblings and their mother that examines the bonds of family love, romantic relationships, and the dynamics between young people full of dreams—and the painful departure of a son who chooses to leave. Set in the Cuba of 2025, the mood ranges from sadness and fear to a celebration of Cuban rhythms and community joy.
