Eat Well. Do Good. -- Support local non-profits just by dining in September at Columbia Restaurant and Cha Cha Coconuts on St. Armands Circle in Sarasota.

Now in the 29th year, the month-long Community Harvest donates 5 percent of all diners’ checks to charities selected by the guests at no additional charge. Guests receive a ballot with a list of local non-profits to select, or they may write in their own favorite.

Over the last 28 years, this program provided $4.8 million to Florida non-profit organizations.

Community Harvest runs from Tuesday, Sept. 1 to Wednesday, Sept. 30.
