
About the Chef
Chef Ryan has been working in the restaurant business since he was 14 years old, working at his family restaurant in Maine and the White Mountain Hotel in New Hampshire. His tenure with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts travels back to 2008 where he started as a corporate management trainee and grew his career at the Grand Hyatt DFW, Hyatt Regency Reston, Hyatt Regency Washington D.C., and most recently Hyatt Regency Sarasota. Over the years with Hyatt, Chef Ryan assisted with preparations for the presidential inauguration, was awarded manager of the year, People’s Choice Award for best chocolate & most decadent dessert for the Red Sox Foundation dessert competitions, and he earned top spots in the Interstate Hotels & Resort’s Food Summit culinary competitions of 2018 and 2019. Most recently, Ryan joins us at the Westin Sarasota after his departure from Sunseeker Resort, where he was responsible for quality control of 17 kitchens, including six freestanding outlets and 11 outlet food halls. He leads our culinary team with the belief that elevated dishes are the key to enhancing a guest's stay with us.
