Situated under an Oak canopy, the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park is a publicly-owned natural resource conservation and outdoor recreation area that includes approximately 160 acres. The park provides an Old Florida nature experience with winding rustic paths, footbridges, wooded trails, overlook, pavilion, primitive camping site (by permit only) and restroom.The park is owned by the City of North Port and is operated by Sarasota County through an interlocal agreement adopted in 1993. Activities at the park include birding, hiking, horseback riding, and biking. The park is also home to the Myakkahatchee Creek Connector Bridge which connects the park to Sarasota County's Carlton Reserve.
