Seasonal tourism campaign plays to warmer weather to attract tourists through mid-January
SARASOTA, Fla. – (December 9, 2025) – Ahead of peak tourism season, Visit Sarasota County (VSC) is reminding travelers why swapping snow for sand this winter has never looked so inviting in its new seasonal marketing campaign. Dubbed “Share the Sunshine,” VSC’s winter promotional push is prominently featuring beaches, outdoor dining, and sunlight in its digital advertising and storytelling through mid-January.
The ads are designed to drive traffic to a dedicated landing page, rich in blogs and content of local attractions, sightseeing spots, and events embodying the holiday spirit, coastal style. The website also encourages exploration with VSC’s new Seasons of Sunshine mobile pass, a free platform that provides curated highlights updated monthly from Venice to Sarasota to Longboat Key.
“It’s our role to create campaigns that don’t just follow a calendar but are created with input from our local businesses and residents, and this seasonal marketing program plays strongly into this approach,” said Erin Duggan, President and CEO at Visit Sarasota County. “Our invite to potential visitors is simple: you don’t have to suffer the cold, because a trip to our region is all it takes to take in the sunshine – and we’ve got an abundance to share.”
The winter campaign is currently targeting locals in ten frosty regions such as Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinnati, and Washington D.C., as well as warm-weather drive markets – like Fort Myers, Naples, Miami, Orlando and West Palm Beach – inviting travelers to enjoy day trips and winter-season weekend escapes in Sarasota. This is the first in VSC’s new annual marketing theme, “Your Season, Year Round,” underscoring that our destination is a perfect escape, no matter the time of year.
