"We Got the Beat: Poetry & Percussion,” featuring Hermitage Fellows Sarah Galdes and Robyn Schiff, Thursday, October 29, 5:30pm: The Hermitage goes back to the beach with this rhythmic program featuring Hermitage Fellows Sarah Galdes and Robyn Schiff. Drummer and producer Sarah Galdes has toured, performed, and recorded with world-renowned artists such as Julien Baker (boygenius), Lauren Mayberry (CHVRCHES), and TEEN. Robyn Schiff is an acclaimed poet who was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for her book, Information Desk: An Epic, based on her experience as a staff member at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s information desk. The New York Review of Books describes it as “an effluvial rush of memory, desire, data, and metaphor,” while The Washington Post hailed Schiff’s work as “among the year’s highlights, groundbreaking and epic.” Join these two talented artists on the Hermitage Beach as they share their original work and discuss their respective journeys as the sun sets into the Gulf.
