Celebrating the Art of Family Storytelling
November 14, 2026 See All DatesAt Stevey Studios, our heartbeat is rooted in a simple, guiding philosophy: “Breathe, Create, Play.” We believe that when we nurture early literacy and emotional regulation, we empower children and families to feel better so they can learn better. That is why we are so thrilled to invite our students, parents, and community supporters to our upcoming "Mr. Stevey & Friends" Saturday Family Series during National Family Literacy Month!
On Saturday, November 14th, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, we are gathering at the Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Public Library for a morning dedicated entirely to "The Art of Family Storytelling."
Our featured book selection for this event is the deeply moving Milo Imagines the World by Matt de la Peña. This stunning story explores empathy, observation, and family connection across distance, serving as a perfect springboard for our families to connect, reflect, and share their own unique stories. Alongside live read-alouds, mindful breathing exercises, and joyful movement, families will drop in to create keepsake art featuring "My Little Box of Calm"—a hands-on project designed to help children anchor their creativity and mindfulness at home.
Public libraries and early literacy programs are vital anchors for our communities. They provide safe, vibrant spaces where children discover the magic of books and families forge lasting bonds. We want to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to our premier community partners and sponsors, Rough & Ready Media, for their unwavering support of our creative educational mission.
Come out and celebrate literacy, libraries, and community with us! Whether you are a regular participant or joining us for the first time, your presence helps uplift our students and families.
