Founded on April 27, 1987, the celebrated Michael’s On East restaurant takes fine dining to another level, offering award-winning cuisine and outstanding service, in an exceptional 1940s supper club atmosphere. Michael's On East was one of only ten restaurants in the nation to be inducted into the 2009 Nation's Restaurant News Fine Dining Hall of Fame, considered the Oscars of the restaurant industry, and received its 31st consecutive AAA Four-Diamond Award in 2021. In February 2012, U.S. Airways Magazine selected Michael’s On East as an East Coast Icon, in good company with the ‘21’ Club in New York City, and is honored in Florida Trend’s Golden Spoon Hall of Fame.

Now a part of Sarasota’s history, partners Michael Klauber and Phil Mancini have built their unmatched reputation for exceptional service and inspired cuisine on the principle that "each guest should be treated the way they expect to be treated," every moment of each and every visit. The Sarasota culinary duo have been recognized locally, regionally and internationally for their dedication in helping more than 500 nonprofit organizations throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties, and giving back more than one million dollars through in-kind donations, contributions and partnerships.                                                         
 
Located at 1212 East Avenue South in Midtown Plaza, the iconic fine dining restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday thru Thursday, 5 pm to 10pm and Friday, Saturday 5pm to 11pm. Michael’s popular Happy Hour menu featuring select Hand-Crafted Cocktails and Private Label Wines is available in the Lounge 5-7 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. All Night Happy Hour in the lounge on Tuesdays. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays, with the exception of Easter and Mother's Day.  The restaurant’s Private Dining Room can accommodate up to 48 guests. Michael’s Events & Catering is Sarasota’s premier caterer creating memorable events from candlelit dinners for two to dazzling galas for 1,000 guests held at any venue. The Michael’s On East Ballroom in Midtown Plaza can host up to 550 guests for a seated event or 1,000 for a reception. The Ballroom is easily partitioned for smaller, more intimate gatherings. The stunning glass-covered garden atrium space works beautifully for cocktail receptions. Michael’s Events & Catering is also proud to serve as the exclusive caterer for the area’s premier waterfront wedding venues, Selby Gardens in downtown Sarasota and Bay Preserve in Osprey.

The newest addition to the Michael's family is the hip, urban Michael’s Wine Cellar which hosts more than 1,000 International estate-bottled wines. The Wine Cellar also offers premium & boutique spirits, imported & craft beers and more than 200 boutique wines under $20. Store hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Retail store by day, the unique space is transformed into a magical space by night. Michael’s Wine Cellar hosts rehearsal dinners and seated events for up to 125 guests and up to 300 guests for receptions. Adjacent to the shop is n outdoor covered patio with wrought iron tables and chairs.
