Executive Chef Marcos Vasquez, born in Guatemala was inspired to become a chef when he was 28 years old. When Marcos entered a kitchen, he loved the idea of seeing people enjoying a good meal. This is what is so fulfilling to him, as a chef. The driving force behind his work is seeing others enjoy his food. Marcos was mostly self-taught and mentored at a local independent restaurant on Siesta Key. He has been with Pop's for over 3 years. While Chef Marcos has maintained many of the long-time favorite items on Pop's menu, he continues to impress us with exciting specials and hosting elevated wine paired dinners and other special events.
