It’s the 15th Annual Venice Florida Corvettes A Vette - Together On Sunday March 17th, 2019 the Venice Florida Corvettes, Corvette Club, will be hosting their 15th annual all Corvette show in Centennial Park in downtown Venice. Our first show was in January of 2003 at the Bill Buck Chevrolet dealer in Venice. In 2004 the show became known as “A Vette-Together “and was moved to September at Centennial Park. There were 60 members and 40 registered participants. Our show grew year by year and by 2008 there was well over 300 Corvettes in the show. After the September show we decided to move the date to March to allow our snowbirds to participate as well. Registration grew so much that we had to limit our registration to 165 participants, which provided a safer and less crowded show. Our show has grown since, to become one of the premier shows in the southeastern United States. Since then we decided that club cars are not eligible for awards, but are able to be displayed. Participants that come from all over the including, AZ, KY, NC, SC, and MS are always excited to receive one of the 58 unique and prestigious “Sharks Tooth” trophies, depicting Venice, Florida, the shark tooth capital. The trophies are made by hand by club members and are sponsored by Norma Jeans Sports Bar and Grill. Venice Florida Corvettes was started in 2002 when 7 couples came together and formed the club. Growth was rapid and today we have 250 memberships, representing 470 members that own 320 Corvettes! Our goal as a social club is to have 2 social events per month plus our monthly meeting. We love to meet and eat! In 2019 many of our club members will join our club member, who is one of the State caravan co-chairs, for the 25th National Corvette museum caravan. Plan to visit Venice, Florida, the “Shark Tooth Capital Of The World” on Sunday March 17th, 2019 for our annual show. Show times are from 9am-2pm. At 2pm the prestigious Sharks Tooth hardware will be awarded to the lucky winners. Opening ceremony will be at 10am with presentation of colors by the Venice High School JROTC. There will also be a 50/50 drawing with proceeds going to the Venice Salvation Army Food Bank. Food will be available from the Venice High School Band Boosters, as well as many other vendors, which include the National Corvette Museum and Cars from our major sponsor Bill Buck Chevrolet.
