The Gene Whipp Sports Center is located in Venice, Florida, 3 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and the Venice area beaches. This world class facility is just 12 miles south of Sarasota. It was home to the 2000 US Olympic Decathlon Squad and now houses the Special Olympics offices for Sarasota County. Open from 8:30am - 5:00pm and available for rent 7 days a week with exclusive use of the facility for the rental period.

8 lane, 400 meter all weather track

5,000 square foot field house

Indoor weight training room

Pacer hurdles, high jump, pole vault, long jump, discus, javelin, shot put, starting blocks, Pacer pads.

Justus Koech (Kenya), 6th Place IAAF World Championships in 800imeters, Paris 2005.

Richard Smith (USA), Former USA National Junior Champion 800.meters.

Julius Achon (Uganda), NCAA Champion, Olympian and World IAAF Finalist, 800 and 1500imeters.
