He is joined by American pianist Michelle Cann as the soloist in Florence Price’s captivating Piano Concerto. It will be followed by Gershwin’s blockbuster, Rhapsody in Blue, celebrating its 100th anniversary. The drama and pathos of Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony never fail to move and thrill audiences. One of Tchaikovsky’s most personal works, the Symphony packs an emotional wallop with a triumphant conclusion. The concert opens with the wit of Rossini’s Overture to The Thieving Magpie.
