Johannes Debus, Music Director of Toronto’s Canadian Opera Company, is joined by violinist Randall Goosby in Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3, written when the composer was only 19. Goosby himself was the youngest ever winner of the Sphinx Concerto Competition, and is a passionate performer. Inspired by a visit to Scotland, Mendelssohn cast the beauty of the Scottish mountains, glens, and moors in musical form in his joyous symphony.
