John Tatum

As a 5th generation Sarasotan, John Tatum brings his love for good food, excellent quality and service and a commitment to serve the community in which he was raised, directly from his kitchen to your table. John has over 25 years of experience in family-owned and operated restaurants, and his PizzaSRQ restaurant offers a full line of specialties for dine-in, delivery and take-out, as well as complete party planning and catering for events both large and small.

John grew up in the restaurant business and understands the importance maintaining the level of quality and service that his customers have come to expect. John’s first jobs were in some of Sarasota’s most outstanding restaurants, where he fine-tuned his people skills and learned the value of superlative customer service. His “graduate training” was under the direct tutelage of the longtime owner of Demetrio’s of Sarasota. In 2001, John opened D’Aritino’s in Bradenton (named after his three children: Demi, Ari, and Tino), where he served the public and Manatee community for several years.

Once back in Sarasota, John opened PizzaSRQ in April of 2011 at its current location. Here he continues to create, grow, meet your food desires, and team up with schools and organizations to help build a stronger community. John is proud of his Sarasota heritage and its traditions of educational support and community service—this is a cornerstone of his business operations.
