Christian Hershman

(THE OVERTON) While enrolled in culinary school, Christian was recruited by the owners of the Alley Cat Cafe to be the Executive Chef. In 1998 Christian’s first restaurant Noah opened on Palm Avenue, a Chef driven eatery with catering. In 2010 Christian conceptualized and created State Street Eating House + Cocktails. State Street introduced the craft cocktail and upscale-casual dining to Sarasota. In 2016 Christian sold State Street to investors. Recognized by BCA as a “Best Chef in America”, Christian also has deep roots in the area and has consulted on many favorite local startup restaurants and hotel projects. With an intimate knowledge of the food and beverage industry in the region, he continues to be a supporter and driving force in the expanding local dining scene. Christian is now a partner at The Overton, a fast casual eatery with a barista lead coffee program, in the Rosemary District, downtown Sarasota.
