Sarasota Bike Tours Traverses Legacy Trail

Flat and with plenty of extraordinary views, bicycling in Sarasota County is a perfect way to see the area while enjoying a recreational activity. Jason Crain, owner and operator of Sarasota Bike Tours, has rode in the area throughout his life, and now he serves as a guide to help others do the same.


It's a perfect day - like most days in the crisp Florida winter season. There's just enough wind to cool a light sweat, and the sun seems to be shining in a way that makes the Legacy Trail appear as if it was in a picturesque commercial. As Jason Crain, owner of Sarasota Bike Tours, explains, the Legacy Trail is the old CSX railroad tracks that have been converted for bike lanes.

"It's a great place for beginners or very experienced riders," says Crain.

Legacy Trail tours are being added to Crain's tours for 2014. Sarasota Bike Tours also offers routes through Siesta Key, historic downtown, the Ringling Mansion and more.
