Where: Gompertz Theatre
Richard Bean’s comic hit, based on an 18th Century farce, The Servant of Two Masters, takes place in England and promises “inspired insanity, high-low antics and nimble wordplay” a la “Benny Hill.” Live musicians also rev up the evening.
Butler
When: December 9 to February 21

This regional premiere is set during the Civil War in 1861. “Butler” takes the very un-funny, true story of a slave’s fight for freedom and gives it a treatment praised as sharply witty and wry.
Outside Mullingar

Playwright John Patrick Shanley, author of Doubt and the popular movie Moonstruck has penned a comedy set in rural Ireland about a bitter land feud and familial rivalries.
Alabama Story
When: April 6 to May 28
Where: Gompertz Theatre
In another regional premiere, FST presents a new play by Kenneth Jones about true events during the burgeoning civil rights movement in 1959 Montgomery, Alabama. What happens in a community when differing viewpoints collide over a controversial children’s book that presents a love story about a white rabbit and a black rabbit?
2015-2016 Winter Cabaret
Note: Ticket holders are invited to dine in the cabaret before the show. Reservations are not required, you will dine at the table you reserved for the performance.
Soul Mates: A Journey to Hitsville
When: Oct. 14 to Feb. 7
Where: John Court Cabaret
Popular repeat FST director Bill Castellino, along with Human Nature and David Rudder, presents an upbeat tribute to the music of Motown and some of our greatest rhythm and blues classics.
Yesterday
When: January 6 to May 1
Where: Goldstein Cabaret
This musical treat is another FST original with tunes from the British Invasion, 1964-1974. FST talents Richard Hopkins, Rebecca Hopkins and Jim Prosser share the groundbreaking sounds of The Beatles, The Who, and The Rolling Stones as they intersect with the emerging new sound of American Rock ‘N’ Roll.
Laughing Matters: V5 Lock the Gates
When: February 17 to June 12
Where: Goldstein Cabaret
This brand new edition of FST’s popular “Laughing Matters" (subtitled "V5 Lock the Gates”) has been called a musical Saturday Night Live, written by Rebecca Hopkins, Jim Prosser and Adam Ratner especially for Sarasota. It comes just in time for the election season, with its comical songs and sketches that spoof contemporary life.
