The Perlman Music Program/Suncoast, this season, celebrates  the 15th Anniversary of hosting the Perlman Music Program (PMP) Sarasota Winter Residency! This intensive 17-day program was founded by Toby Perlman, wife of internationally acclaimed concert violinist and conductor Itzhak Perlman. PMP offers unparalleled musical training for international students, ages 12 to 20+, who play the violin, viola, cello, and bass. With a faculty led by Toby and Itzhak Perlman and comprising some of the most gifted musical talents of our time, the PMP Sarasota Winter Residency offers an artistic and personal experience that changes students' lives forever.

The 15th annual PMP Sarasota Winter Residency takes place December 20, 2018 through January 5, 2019. Held in a heated performance tent on the grounds of the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus, the PMP Sarasota Winter Residency offers 20+ FREE events, including orchestra and chorus rehearsals, master classes, and works-in-progress student recitals. Special low-cost ticketed events include the Super Strings program and a Chamber Music Works-in-Progress Recital. The culmination of the Winter Residency is the Celebration Concert, held at the Sarasota Opera House on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 5:00 p.m..  This much anticipated event features the PMP Chorus led by Patrick Romano and the PMP String Orchestra, under the baton of Itzhak Perlman.

In addition, to add to the 15th Anniversary festivities, PMP/Suncoast presents Itzhak Perlman - In The Fiddler's House - A Night of Klezmer at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available beginning August 31 at the Van Wezel Box Office: 941-953-3368.

Throughout the 15th Anniversary 2018-2019 season, Alumni of PMP will perform at schools and community venues throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties, including Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Ringling College of Art and Design, and Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium. Events are FREE or low-cost!
