We are excited to welcome back the PMP Students and Faculty this year for the PMP Winter Residency! The PMP Winter Residency offers unparalleled musical training for gifted students ages 12-20+ from all over the world, who play the violin, viola, cello and bass. PMP’s world-class faculty is led by acclaimed violinist Itzhak Perlman and his wife Toby Perlman who oversee a curriculum of solo, chamber music, and orchestral repertoire at the highest level. Events open to the public are held in a performance tent on the USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus, including Orchestra and Chorus Rehearsals, Works In Progress Recitals, and Master Classes. The Winter Residency culminates with a Celebration Concert, held at the Sarasota Opera House in downtown Sarasota. The PMP String Orchestra and the PMP Chorus perform, in concert, the repertoire they have been rehearsing in the Tent throughout the Winter Residency. The Celebration Concert is followed by a Gala Dinner, attended by Toby and Itzhak Perlman, PMP students, faculty and staff with fine food and beverages and entertainment by the students and faculty.

PMP Alumni: Around Town is a program we offer to bring these young, professional musicians to our area to present outreach recitals in community venues. This program gives our audiences access to world-class musicians and string quartet repertoire, offering a unique opportunity to learn about and interact with the musicians through Q&A sessions or post-concert receptions.

In addition PMP Alumni, who are advanced in their careers and performing all over the world in orchestras, quartets or as solo performers, come to our area for very special concert performances. These unique events give our audiences the rare opportunity to experience the PMP alumni who are now receiving international recognition.
