Art Uptown Gallery Presents Frank Bibbins' Photography Exhibit "Myakka Light," June 2019
May 25, 2019
to June 28, 2019
Art Uptown Gallery
1367 Main Street
Sarasota, FL 34236
Art Uptown will present Frank Bibbins’ Myakka River photography collection captured over the past decade in the 590-square-mile preserve, located mostly within Sarasota County. The Myakka River watershed is a story told by its landscape. Black and white “infrared” and “low color” imagery were chosen to showcase Myakka in a unique and timeless manner. There is no other Myakka River in the world. The more we concentrate on a place like Myakka, the better the chances we have of conserving it and others like it. This exhibit is a metaphor for what we hold dear and wish to preserve. Frank believes that photography is a journey through place and time and thought; it’s one he hopes all will enjoy. The exhibit opens on May 25 and runs through June 28. A public reception will be held on Friday, June 7 from 6-9 p.m. at Art Uptown Gallery, 1367 Main St., Sarasota.
