Visit Sarasota County awards marketing grants to local organizations

SARASOTA, Fla. (December 06, 2016) – Visit Sarasota County (VSC) awarded marketing grants to 13 local organizations. The grants are to be used for advertising specific local events outside of Sarasota and Manatee Counties with the purpose of driving visitation to Sarasota County. The grant awards range from $2,000 to $10,000.

The recipients for FY2017 (October 1, 2016 through September 31, 2016) are as follows:

• Sarasota Medieval Fair, Inc. for the Sarasota Medieval Fair, Inc
• Sarasota Architectural Foundation for SarasotaMOD 2016        
• Senior Friendship Centers, Inc. for the Road Scholar Programs
• The Marie Selby Botanical Gardens  for the Marc Chagall, Flowers, and the French Riviera: The Color of Dreams exhibition and programs
• The Circus Arts Conservatory for the Sailor Circus Spring 2017
• Suncoast Foundation for Handicapped Children Inc. for the Suncoast BBQ & Bluegrass Bash    
• Venice Youth Boating Association for the 2017 VENETIAN CUP REGATTA     
• Key Chorale for Tomorrow's Voices Today  
• The Harvey Milk Festival for the Harvey Milk Festival in 2017
• Science and Environment Council of Southwest Florida for the ((ecko)) - ecotravel on Florida's Gulf Coast   
• Sarasota Light Chasers  to bring artists and collectors to Sarasota
• Florida West Coast Symphony (Sarasota Orchestra) for the Sarasota Music Festival 2017
• Florida Studio Theatre for the 9th Annual Sarasota Improv Festival
