Our Hottest Shopping Districts

Downtown Sarasota and surrounding areas

From the bayfront and marina to US 301/Washington Boulevard, downtown Sarasota and the surrounding communities contain several pockets of shopping districts with countless chic boutiques and independent stores. Popular areas such as Historic Palm Avenue feature upscale art galleries, restaurants and home decor. Artist colonies, such as the Towles Court Art Association and antique stores, like Art & Antique Center Sarasota are close by. If you haven't been to a salvage store, experiencing Architectural Salvage just north of the Rosemary District is a must, especially for those considering some home redecoration. South of downtown

Several gems sparkle the route heading south on US 41 from downtown Sarasota to nearby regional communities, such as Elysian Fields, which offers unique jewelry, music, stones, crystals and more. Or stop by Southside Village, a neighborhood that surrounds the Sarasota-Manatee Memorial Hospital and holds great little stores and eateries such as Geckos on Hillview and Morton's Gourmet Market.

Venice

Visit the beautiful downtown Venice. Featuring more than numerous shops, galleries and boutiques within its historic blocks, purchase design clothing such at store such as Captain’s Landing, the go-to spot for men’s resort wear on Venice Avenue. St. Armands Circle

None other than John Ringling himself imagined St. Armands Key a big hub of residential and shopping units which would take the form of a circle when he bought the property in 1917. But it wasn't until the 40s and 50s did businesses begin to fill up St. Armands Circle. Now, the district is one of the busiest, iconic places in Southwest Florida with more than 100 shops and restaurants. Dine at establishments such as the Columbia Restaurant, Cafe L'Europe or Shore Diner, and check out the collection of shops and boutiques in the St. Armands Circle Association.

Lakewood Ranch

Veer past UTC to the community of Lakewood Ranch for Lakewood Ranch Main Street. This outdoor venue has stylish boutiques, a movie theater, miniature golf Course and more. The hub is often hosting special events, concerts and festivals, such as "Music On Main," which is held the first Friday of the month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Malls throughout the area

For a true mall shopping experience, explore Westfield Sarasota Square. Find every fashion, beauty and lifestyle item you can imagine, and then enjoy a movie at the mall’s theater. With more than 60 stores, spend an afternoon shopping away!

Westfield Siesta Key, closer to downtown Sarasota is beloved by locals. Undergoing a transformation, this mall is more has opened up into more of an entertainment and lifestyle center, featuring LA Fitness, Cravings and Metro Diner. Several more stores will be opening this year in the mall.

Out east near Interstate-75 is Benderson Development Company’s The Mall at University Town Center. This mall is gem of the crown of shops and eateries that surround University Parkway and the Interstate. World class dining and fashion merge together for an exceptional experience.

Siesta Key

Siesta Key's main shopping area is the Siesta Key Village. Amid colorful bungalows and vacation resorts, this "village" has several bar, restaurants and souvenir shopping stores, as well as everything you'd need to prepare yourself for a long day at the beach. South of the village off Stickney Point Road and Midnight Pass Road is another collection of shops. Fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts will want to stop in at CB's Saltwater Outfitters for some active wear and #sealife supplies. And before you head out to the beach or onto a boat from that location, be sure to stop in at Crescent Beach Grocery for some delectable picnic provisions.

Ellenton Premium Outlets

About 15 miles north of Sarasota off Interstate 75 is the Ellenton Premium Outlets. Locals often make the drive to this collection of shops to save more than 50% off premium brands, including everything from jewelry and fashionable accessories to sneakers and athletic wear.

Englewood

South of Venice is Dearborn Street and its surrounding roads in Olde Englewood Village, with shops like Vino Loco (known for its overflowing selection of fine wines and cheeses).
